The Genesis of Life-Lab
Life-Lab was born out of a unique blend of personal passion and professional expertise. The founder, Emily Re, drawing from years of experience as a teacher, saw an opportunity to channel these skills into a new and meaningful venture. This journey was not embarked upon in isolation; it was deeply influenced by Emily’s father, Robert Re, who has been a stalwart in the field of organisational development for many years. Observing and learning from her father’s work provided invaluable insights and inspiration. The core idea behind Life-Lab is to help individuals gain greater personal effectiveness and organisations to gain greater professional effectiveness. This is achieved through various services such as DISC Profiling, In-House Professional Development Sessions, Public Workshops, One-on-One Career Coaching, and Personal Reset Retreats. Each service is designed to foster personal growth and organisational effectiveness.
Life-Lab is an independent organisation that also collaborates professionally with Leadership At Work, Just For Schools and Lightbulb Training Solutions where they can facilitate larger workshops in areas such as leadership development, conflict resolution and organisational improvement.
Empowering Through Proven Methodologies
At the heart of Life-Lab’s offerings is a commitment to using tried-and-tested tools that facilitate deeper self-awareness, empowerment and/or organisational improvements. Participants engage in group discussions that delve into Emotional Intelligence Competencies, Personal Values, workplace behavioural styles, and Conflict Resolution styles, among other topics. These sessions are meticulously crafted to provide participants with actionable insights that they can implement immediately. The public workshops and in-house professional development sessions are particularly impactful. They create a collaborative environment where participants can openly discuss their challenges and successes. This collective exploration leads to greater personal and organisational effectiveness. The ultimate goal is for each participant or team to leave with an action plan tailored to their specific needs.
A Mission Rooted in Personal Growth
Life-Lab’s mission is clear: empowering people to nurture themselves for personal growth and effectiveness, thereby enabling them to positively impact others. This mission resonates deeply with the founder’s own journey of self-discovery and personal development. The excitement of helping others become more comfortable in their own skin mirrors the founder’s own experiences. Located in Melbourne, Life-Lab serves a diverse audience. Whether through collaborative workshops or one-on-one career coaching, Life-Lab offers something for everyone seeking meaningful change. In essence, Life Lab stands as a testament to the power of combining professional skills with personal passion. It’s not just about providing training; it’s about fostering an environment where individuals can grow both personally and professionally and workplaces can improve their culture. Through its comprehensive range of services, Life-Lab continues to make a positive impact on countless lives.
I loved attending Emily’s workshop. It was at a pivotal moment in my life and was the catalyst for some really positive change. Emily is an engaging facilitator with loads of genuine authenticity.

Last week I attended the Leadership in Life workshop in Ballarat. I highly recommend it. There was a really interesting group of people from diverse backgrounds, respectful conversations and lots of laughter. I have made some definitive plans around employment, education, travel and health… starting with organising six months leave from work! I now have the tools and framework to work towards developing and focusing on my goals into the future. My only regret is not doing it sooner!

It’s always a bit daunting to openly and truthfully discuss where you are sitting in life and where you’d like to go. But you lead the group professionally, with humour and enthusiasm. I already feel a shift out of the Covid doldrums, so many thanks to you, Robert and the group.
